I was recently asked, what is an EndoSister?
Great question! An EndoSister is another women who has been diagnosed with endometriosis. What I have found to be so great about connecting with other women with endometriosis is that EVERY WOMAN’S STORY AND STRUGGLE IS DIFFERENT. This statement is so very powerful. Yet, at the same time it can connect us, or in some cases leave us feeling alone. In speaking with dozens of women in various stages of the disease and who have been dealing with it for various lengths of time, I have found that endometriosis is a very personal journey. Having a network of EndoSisters who understand the core of the struggle is key.
Feeling connected is the core of being human. And for women especially, the need to feel heard and understood stands at the center of our emotional health. Listening to other women’s stories and connecting with her struggle, knowing that you are not alone is incredibly empowering. Discovering a snippet of information that might makes sense for you and your journey enables the all important step forward. It is a constant search and constant experiment in discovering your path…and you do not have to go it alone. Join my Private Facebook Group and connect with women across the country with endometriosis.
This is why I am so very excited to be participating in the Million Women March for Endometriosis in Washington D.C. on March 13, 2014. Not only will there be thousands of women marching to raise awareness for endometriosis, but also endometriosis specialists who are looking to connect with women and learn what they can be doing to grow and further support us along our path to healing.
AND, I am so excited, at the end of the month, I will be closing out Endometriosis Awareness month by highlighting five EndoSisters who have found their voice and are empowering other women to do the same. All of these ladies have very different stories and have found healing and confidence in very different ways.
